I would like to invite you to participate in the Breast Cancer Ride, the only two-day bicycle ride for breast cancer in the country. I had the privilege of working as Motorcycle Crew on the BCR past 2 years. It is always a great weekend. The event is well organized and supervised. Personally, I was deeply moved and inspired by the Riders and the Crew. I can not think about the weekend without tearing up. My only regret was that the Motorcycle Crew was understaffed. I vowed last year to recruit Crew for the 2010 Ride. The third annual Breast Cancer Ride will take place August 7-8, 2010. The Ride benefits Open Arms of Minnesota and Susan G. Komen for the Cure Minnesota Affiliate. Bicycle Riders are required to raise a minimum of $750 in pledges; however, Crew members are not required to raise any money (though fund-raising is always appreciated for such a wonderful cause). Since you are a motorcycle enthusiast, I hoped you might have particular interest in being a part of the 2010 Motorcycle Crew. The Motorcycle Crew patrols the route to ensure safety. They are stationed where traffic may be an issue. The Motorcycle Crew will assist at difficult intersections and other locations as requested. Team members must provide their own motorcycle and helmet, as well as complete insurance. For more information about the Breast Cancer Ride , please visit their web site at www.BreastCancerRide.org. or contact Kay by e-mail leharmony@usfamily.net or phone 952-985-4287.
